Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency investigators recovered the body of a boating accident victim at Norris Lake on Sunday night.

According to TWRA, a resident of the Big Creek area of Norris Lake reported an explosion and subsequent fire on the lake at about 11 p.m. Saturday.

Wildlife officers arrived to find the crashed boat engulfed in flames, and first responders began the search for the 51-year-old man from Norris, whose identity has not yet been released.

Responders used an underwater drone to locate the man's body at a depth of about 60 feet, several hundred yards from the remains of the boat. Officials believe the victim was ejected from his fishing boat, which continued traveling, crashed into the shoreline, and burned.
